Laptop computers (as well as many desktops) typically come with a system
restoration disk, which has your copy of windows on it. Simply put the disk
in the drive and see what happens when you click continue/ok, or whatever it
displays for you. If it allows you to navigate, you may be able to tell it
where on the disk the windows files are located.

Ok, have you resolved the issue? It's probably asking for the Office CD.

What SP3? What version of Windows do you run? I have XP Pro SP2 and
wasn't aware of an SP3 for it.

Big difference! You can probably get the update from Windows web
site and the CD it wants is the one you must have, else you
couldn't have installed Office XP in the first place. You are a
legal user, right?

See if this works:

Description of Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 3
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832671

Halfway down the page is the "Administrative" version:
http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...llfile-enu.exe
or
http://tinyurl.com/4oh9v

(this is a 57 megabyte download)

Usually the administrative service pack can be installed without
prompting for the original CD.

There is NO SP3 for XP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Delete the hell out of that and forget it.

Now, if you meant Office or Word, whatever, that's a different story. So
until you clarify differently, there's nothing to say. Ain't no SP3 for XP,
so ... you could easily have a virus or malware of some sort; time to run
some scans for viruses and spyware and trojans, etc.
