Default xp pro requires password though none is set

hi

i have three users: 2 administrators and one limited. 1 of the admins has a
password, the others do not. however when i switched users and it returned to
the welcome screen, it now requires a password for all the accounts. i have
tried leaving the password prompt blank, my password, and other passwords,
and am not able to login the any of the accounts. this is an intermittent
problem, mebe happening 5 times over the past 9 months. what gives?

This is not a solution to this intermittent problem but you should create a
password reset floppy disk for each account, including the ones that have no
password set. That way you can always access each account using the password
reset disk. Try disabling Fast User Switching. You can also crosspost this
to microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin if no one else here has any
ideas on how to solve your problem.
