Default XP Logon

We have only one user on our system and we really don't need to logon
everytime the system is rebooted. I would like to get rid of the logon
screen that come up every time the system is rebooted. How is that
done?

Thanks
Terry

Hello Terry,

Go to Start => Run and type in "control userpasswords2" {without the
quotes}.
In the window that opens, uncheck (clear) the box 'Users must enter a
user name...'.
Restart or Log on/off.

Using auto login is a security issue, but if you want to there are several
ways to go about it, both straightforward. Also you should have at least
two accounts with admin privileges in case something damages one of the
accounts you will be able to login to the other account.

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install TweakUI for XP and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)
