Default Word shuts down laptop

I use Word (Office XP Pro 2002) with Windows Vista. If I leave my laptop for
20+ minutes the computer shuts down and I have to restart the computer. I
get the error message:- windows failed to shut down correctly when I restart
it. This didn't occur on my old laptop when I had Office XP and MS Windows.
It doesn't happen if I'm in MS Outlook, Windows Mail or if I don't have any
programs open. Is this a compatability problem between Office 2002 and
Windows Vista?

Thanks

Erica

Office other than 2003 is not fully compatible with Vista
