Default Windows XP needs re-activation every month?

I have Windows XP SP2 installed and have activated the Windows and everything
is working okay. I used to have only 1 account used by everyone in my family.
About 2.5 months ago, I started creating separate limited accounts for my
kids and I.

Now, the problem is that about one month after I created these accounts, my
kids couldn't access their account because windows needs to be activated. I
went to my account (Admin), and I was asked to activate the windows. So, I
did re-activate the windows. No problem with the re-activation. Ok, I thought
the system must have a glitch or something. However, about one month later,
same problem occured. My kids couldn't access their accounts again because
windows needs to be activated. I went to my account, was asked to activate
the windows and re-activated it again. Now I wonder what went wrong. I bet in
the next a month or so, I will be asked to activate the windows again
(despite the fact that there is no change whatsoever on the hardware as I
don;t install nothing new).

So, what is wrong with this? Can someone tell me how to fix this so that I
don't have to re-activate the windows every month?

Thanks,
Joseph

Best to ring Microsoft in your country when it happens again.
It won't cost you anything, provided you have a legal copy of
Windows.
