Default Windows XP Firewall

Hi,

My XP Windows Security Center tells me that the firewall is off. When I go
to Control Panel>Windows Firewall it says "Due o an unidentified problem,
Windows can't display Windows Firewall settings" .

What's up? What should I do?

Thanks for your help.
