Windows Task Master wont close

Every time I open my PC McAfee tries to connect to the internet by
'btconnect' but I am connected to broadband by network via router so this is
not needed.
I cannot seem to turn this option off.
Does anyone know how to get around this problem - It is starting to drive me
nuts!

in start/control panel/network and internet connections/internet options,

choose the connections tab and make sure the 'never dial a connection' is
chosen.
