Default windows factory settings

Well Teresa I have the same problem I'm not sure what I did but now I have no
access to my control panels and other things I can not find my admin on my
gate way computer I got this computer in 2002 I messed this up I've tried
everything well almost everything I can not restore my computer I don't know
why I don't have any recovery cd's I threw them out cause i didn't know what
I was doing when I had a problem like this before I do not have a windows xp
cd it was already installed on here please help me fix this.

I don't know who Teresa is or to what "same problem" you are referring,
but if you need to reinstall XP on your Gateway you have three choices:

1. Call Gateway and order replacement disks. Most OEM's (Gateway, HP,
etc.) don't charge a lot for these but you will need to call to find out.

2. Take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your
local version of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). They will be able to
reinstall Windows for you using a generic (or branded if they have one)
OEM install disk and the Product Key that is on the sticker on your
computer.

3. Purchase a retail copy of whichever version of XP you want. Go to
Gateway's website and download all the drivers for your hardware.
Install XP and use the Product Key that came with it, then install the
drivers.
