I noticed a problem recently after installing a Windows update, though I'm
not sure which one as I have updates set to automatic and I typically switch
my laptop to Standby and only reboot when I have to. I can get the system to
Standby and Hibernate, but not Restart or Shutdown.
Also, occasionally, the Hide Inactive Icons icon (<) disappears and all
icons become visible in the system tray. Clearing and re-checking the Hide
Inactive Icons checkbox in the Taskbar Properties does not seem to have any
effect.
I'm running WinXP Pro SP2 with all the latest Windows updates installed.
