Default Windows Desktop Search will not index Outlook or Outlook Express

I am running XP (SP 2), Outlook 2002, SP 3 and Outlook Express
6.00.2900.2180. I tried to install Windows desktop Search 3.01 and
cannot get it to index either email program. I have searched Google
and the Microsoft site and can't find any situation where is won't index
either. Has anyone heard of this kind of problem, and if so, if it can
be resolved and how?

Thanks.
