When I insert a CD or DVD or Camera Card, a prompt window opened, asking what
I wanted to do.
This window suddenly NO longer opens,as my skills are in the beginner
stage,I am sure its something I did..
By the way, if I open [ ie. WMP ] the CD or DVD will play .

Here's a program from Microsoft that may help fix your problem.
Nepatsfan, I ran the fixit program = still not working
Went in and using your link, twice , reset all the Auyo play commands
Still won't work, tried several DVD/ CD that used to trigger the little
window to come up..
THANKS for your help..

That is a registry key and to view it, go to the Start menu, Run and type:
regedit and click OK. This opens the registry editor and navigating in
it is similar to navigating in Windows Explorer. You click the + sign in
front of the registry key (folder icon) to display another branch. Since
you are not familiar with the editor, only make changes or deletions when
you have specific directions. To be safe, if you delete anything, click on
File and select Export. This will create a .reg file that can be used to
restore the deleted data should a problem arise.
