Default USB to USB file transfer program?

How do I transfer file between my desktop and laptop?
Can I use USB to USB cable?
What kind of program do I need?

By far the most used method is with a network
cross-over cable. The networking software you
need is already built into Windows.

Go to Start/Help and Support and type in "Network". All of the info. you need
is there.

You would need a special USB cable for that, try a thumb drive instead.
