I just downloaded and installed the latest update.
Afterwards, my ZoneAlarm firewall wouldn't let Internet Explore access the
Internet. I had to turn off outbound protection to get through.
Same happened with Skype after I updated it.
So it seems that the programs that were not modified since the update (or by
the update) can no longer get out through ZoneAlarm. Yet ZoneAlarm does NOT
do what it usually does, which is ask "This program has changed, Okay to let
it go out to the Net?"

This time, at least, it had a happy ending. I downloaded ZoneAlarm again,
and did a clean install. Now it's working correctly again. So whatever
"broke" it during the XP Update (assuming it was that, and it probably was,
because the problem started immediately afterwards) is fixed now.
