Uninstalling Window XP thats not Geniune and replacing it.
I received a message whenever I open windows XP it displays that it is not
geniune. So I bought a new version, but I'm not sure how to install it? Do I
have to uninstall the last version first? Also, my screen resolution is very
small now, and I have no idea how to fix this problem. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

It's not necessary to uninstall the previous OS

RE: Uninstalling Window XP thats not Geniune and replacing it.
The notification that tells you that your Windows is not genuine should give
you options for how to correct that -- one of the options is to enter your
Product Key that you have from the one you bought. That should fix things.
If you're not able to do it that way, you can visit: http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/selfhelp/support.aspx and click on the
"Validate Now" button to give you customized options. Follow the option that
tells you what to do when you buy a retail version of XP.
Screen resolution can be changed by right-clicking on a blank part of your
desktop (i.e. where there are no icons), going to "Properties", clicking on
"Settings", and changing it there.
Best Wishes,

You should not need to uninstall the current version. Boot from your
new CD and do a repair install. That should fix the problem.
