Default unable to contact IP driver

One of the XP SP2 computers on our network is not able to connect to the
network. When pinging an IP address on the network, getting this message:

unable to contact IPdriver error code 2

I ran Winsock fix, and that did not do anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Try to delete the Ethernet adapter from Device Manager and reboot. XP
should be able to re-detect the adapter and should rebuild the IP
protocols.
