Default Two CD Drives???

Dell VOSTRO 1510 (with only one CD slot), WinXPproSP2
My Computer shows:
DVD/CD-RW Drive (D)....CD Drive
CD Drive (E).....................CD Drive

click on (D) is o.k.
click on (E) "Insert disk in (E)"

Device Manager shows only one DVD/CD-Rom Drive

How can I delete the (E) CD drive???

Default Re: Two CD Drives???

you might try looking at the devices/
hardware via control panel system.

where you might find a driver installed
for the cd and another for the dvd.

I would try to uninstall or disable the
one for the cd.

incidentally, make a system restore point
before you do make changes to your
system.

The CD (E) does not show in devices, the DVD/CD-RW (D) does show..

The CD (E) seems to show only in My Computer along with all connected
drives..

Have you installed software that allows you mount an ISO? These
usually create "virtual" CD/DVD drives.
