Default turn off xp power management, how?

i got my laptop fixed recently and the technician fecked up computer, it was
turnin itself off. it went as far as the desktop then turned itself off but
when he reinstallled it it stopped goin as far as the desktop it only went as
far as protected mode, i got another technician to look at it and he thinks
it could be a powermanagement problem, so is there a way i can disable power
management even though my laptop wont stay on?

Default Re: turn off xp power management, how?

You could try looking in the bios to see if you can turn it off there.
Usually you need to press the DEL key or F2 key before windows starts to
load. You have to be quick so if you miss it and windows loads then try
again. Sometimes you just have to start pressing the key as it boots up and
tap away until you get the bios screen. They all vary slightly but if you
can turn off power management then it will be there somewhere.
