Default Trouble with XP CD Writer

The embedded CD Writing Wizard in my Windows XP Home has worked fine until
now. Currently when I try to back-up files to a CD, the XP Writing Wizard
keeps telling me "there was an error in the writing process. Disc may no
longer be usable." This is incorrect, because I can write to the same disc
by using my Nero program. The XP Writing Wizard is more convenient to use
than Nero. Is there anyway I can make it work as it should? Thanks much.
