Default Transferring Data(Pictures) To External Drive While DSL showing er

I have been having some trouble with my DSL the last few days - the internet
somehow is turning off after about 30 minutes or so after I turn on my
computer. I just called my DSL provided and they told me that there was some
errors with my DSL. We are in the process of figuering out what is going
wrong.

I was copying some files (pictures) from my computer to my external drive
while the DSL errors where occurring.

Do you guys know if the internet errors could affect the files that I copied
to my external drive? Is there a chance those pictures that were copied to my
external drive be corrupted because of the DSL errors? Should I recopied them
again or should I be fine?

Thanks

I would think they r ok but if thay r originals from my wedding or 1's
u worked on alot I'd probably do it over. Start copy & get some coffee
if there r lots of them. Better safe than sorrry.

Any advice is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Default Re: Transferring Data(Pictures) To External Drive While DSL showin

I talked to two representatives from my DSL provider while trying to figuere
out what is wrong with my DSL - they are going to come and check the lines in
a few days. One of them told me that the pictures that I transferred should
be fine and they would not be affected. And the other one told me that there
has been error code violations (which are errors in my line). I asked him,
if my pictures that I copied from my computer to my external drive were fine
since these DSL errors occured. He told me that the computer and DSL line
are different and that the internet has nothing to do with the stuff done on
the computer. That the DSL error violations would not affect the transfer of
pictures or anything else done with the computer.

Also while transferring my data and pictures, I transferred them in sets -
and I rebotted the computer everytime. I did this to make sure the internet
was working everytime I copied a set of pictures.

From what they told me, it looks like my data and pictures should be fine.
Appreciate your take or anyone else that knows about internet (errors in
line) AND if interfereres or not with the functions on a computer.

THANKS
