Cidaemon.exe is a Microsoft indexing services.
Windows XP may run slowly and you may see multiple symptoms in Windows Task
Manager

That process is the MS indexing service. Its perfectly normal that it is
working like that, as long as your PC is still responsive.
100% CPU does not mean your CPU is totally maxed out. This is because of the
sample time in task manager is way much longer that kernel quantum time
slices. In task manager processes, Select View / Select columns and add the
CPU Time checkbox.
Now, if that is ticking over on a single process at one second intervals on
any process (other than the System Idle Process) then that process is a
problem in that it is hogging resources.
