System Restore - Do NOTMonitor Recovery Partition ???
A System Restore article on Troubleshooting stated "Do Not Let System Restore
monitor Recovery Partitions that come on (ie) HP, Dell, Compaq computers,
which my HP does by Default. Should I really Turn Off this Recovery partition
Monitoring full time as I don't think he meant "just while troubleshooting".
2nd, 3rd opinions appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, you should turn off monitoring on all partitions/drives that are
*not* the system drive (usually C. The system drive is where Windows
is installed. There is no point in monitoring anything except the system
drive because System Restore doesn't backup anything except on the
system drive. See MVP Bert Kinney's site for details:

How DO you turn off system restore monitoring for a particular partition
or drive?
Re: System Restore - Do NOTMonitor Recovery Partition ???
Two ways to access it, either from within System Restore-System Restore
Settings or Control Panel-System Properties-System Restore. Select the drive
you want to change, click Settings and select "Turn off Restore on this
drive".

Re: System Restore - Do NOTMonitor Recovery Partition ???
Hi Craig,
The most common problem with letting System Restore monitor a recovery
partition is there is normally little or no free disk space on that
partition. This low free disk space effect can trigger System Restore to
switch into standby mode and stops creating restore points. All restore
points are deleted at that time.
