Start up error

My friend can't start his computer. An error message keeps coming up.

" isass.exe" system error object not found

This even comes up in safe mode. Can anyone help

This assumes that the machine can start. This message comes up right after
starting the computer.

you can browse through
the kb's at microsoft.com
for one that fits your situation

they all provide some clue
as to what the file is used
for.

the key to the research is
the filename LSASS.exe

it might even be as simple
as locating that file from
the cd or another system
and copying it to the
dysfunctional one.
