Speaker configuration

Arrrgh.. Some program keep setting my speaker back to "two desktop
speakers" (allthough I have 4 speakers and I have setup that both in
the Creative control panel, in all my games and in Control Panel).

Anyone know what programs might do this and how to prevent it?

Is this info stored in the registry somewhere (so I can make a .reg
file to run a each boot to be sure the speaker config is reset)?
