Default Remote Desktop

Okay, I understand with all the security issues going on but I have a
question, that may put some of your minds to use.

I have always wanted to start a remote desktop support business, I have a
domain already setup and everything, but the most successful and cost
effective solution is by using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection.

Not everyone can understand, how to turn on microsoft remote desktop
connection and how to create a support ticket from their help and support
center via the start menu.

So, is there a way that I can create a ticket for them that will allow me to
log into their computers (Windows XP HOME) via my RDC Windows XP PRO?

Default Re: Remote Desktop

Running a public help desk using RD isn't going to work. For one thing, XP
Home Edition doesn't have RD. For another, you need the target machine's IP
address to connect to it. You can use a service like TZO.com to make that
simpler, but there's one last issue (one that also applies to Remote
Assistance) and that's NAT routers. They get in the way of RD and RA
connections quite frequently. Perhaps there are simple solutions to that
problem, but I haven't found any.

In short, even if you're only working on XP Pro editions, or switch to using
RA when necessary, there are still at least a few roadblocks that may at
least cause the end-user a lot of grief trying to allow you in.
