Default processor speed

I am running a pentium III with a speed of 555.
on checking it appears to be running at a maximum speed of 300.
Is this fixable or do I need a new cpu?

Default Re: processor speed

check the processor clock ratio in your BIOS ...it may have reset to a lower
setting (check your battery also)
