Default New Install on HP laptop

Help!

I am trying to do a new install of Windows XP on my Hp Pavilion zv5200.
When I reboot with Windows CD in, it asks "press any key to
boot from CD". Upon pressing any key, the computer just sits idol. Nothing
happens..
BIOS is set to boot from CD. But it will not boot at all now. CD or not.

BIOS is Phoenix Technologies.

Need help!

Thanks!

Hi Robert,

Have you put the CD into another computer to verify it can boot a
system? It wouldn't be the first time a defective CD was the culprit.
