Yesterday, I started getting a Windows Update Security Patch for Net
Framework 1.1. However, everytime I try to install it, I get an
"Installation Failed" notice. No error message of any kind, it just fails to
install. So, I removed Net Framework 1.1, but I still keep getting the
Windows Update for it.
I looked around the Newsgroup, and saw a couple of posts refering to this,
but there were specific error messages there, and they seemed to have a
slightly different problem.
Does anyone else have this problem with the failed install? I don't use Net
Framework, it just loaded with my HP Printer software, which I also don't use
(that's another story).
How can I get Windows to stop asking me to install an update for a program
that I don't have?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Bill.

Bill.
There was the same problem posted to this newsgroup around a month back &
the instructions in that post solved the user's issue, but I cannot find the
post now to link you too it. Try to search because it'll be worth it
