im in safe mode right now, but itll start up and show the windows screen
loading with the green bars, but it just sits there it wont go to the welcome
screen, any ideas on what i can do?

You could open a command prompt and enter chkdsk /r and hit enter.
Answer "y" to the prompt and then re-boot.
Your hard disk will be checked on the next reboot -(takes 20 minutes or so -
depending on your HDD size).
You PC may now come up normally.

You gat a black window with a dos looking prompt.
Like C:\Documents and Settings -etc..... \>chkdsk /r and hit enter.
