Default Installing XP SP3

Hello,

I am planning on rolling out XP SP3 on several machines and I was wondering
if I had first to apply all the updates for SP2 through Windows Update
before upgrading or if I could just install SP3.
I will be using the network installation package.

Thank you.

Eric

First, if you have IE 7 / 8, you should uninstall it. If IE 7 / 8 is
install when SP3 is install, you will not be able to remove IE 7 / 8
so as to reinstall IE 7 / 8. This is "by design."

No.

Yes. All the older updates you are concerned with are part of SP3.

Skip SP2 and install SP3

Your PC must be at least SP1 or SP2 level as SP3 will not
install on XP Gold.
