I'm running IE 7 under Windows XP home Ed with SP2. On many websites,
actually way too often, it gives a blip noise, then a dropdown occurs
that says:
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has blocked this
website from displaying content with security certificate errors ..."
If I want choose the option to display content , nothing happens but
the blip & dropdown return.
I've tried changing security settings, pop up blocker is turned off,
etc. Nothing I do gets rid of this annoyance. It happens on many
sites, even ones I know aren't problematic.
If anyone can tell how to get rid of this once and forever, I'd really
appreciate it!!
Visit Microsoft Update and from the Optional components choose
and load the "Root Certificates Update". Then reset the IE Security
Zone settings to "Default".

Thanks for the suggestion. I followed your instructions but there is
no such update for my version of XP - I run the Home Ed; the updates
are all for servers running the 2003 Prof Ed.
Isn't there any way to shut this component off?? I couldn't do it
through Add/Remove Programs as one article suggested since I'm not
running on a server.
Very frustrating!! I hate Microsoft!!
