How to reset Windows XP appearance to defaults? (Active Title Bar, Menu, Palette, etc)

Hi Guys/Gals,

Have an issue where my display for my machine is weirdly sized and I
just want to reset it to factory.

Did a search and closest resolution I could find was to reset to
Windows XP classic but that did not do it - it retains the Title Bar
settings, etc.

Is there a way to reset this to Windows defaults?

Display applet>Settings tab - change to the resolution that is correct
for your monitor. Flat panel LCD screens have a native resolution. Refer
to your monitor manual for information about that. Since we don't know
what size or type monitor you have, that's as specific as I can get.
Here are some standard sizes:

1024 x 768 - for 17" monitors
1280 x 1024 - for 19" monitors
1280 x 800 - laptop widescreen
1440 x 900 - 19" LCD widescreen

Hi Malke,

Thanks for answering, but the issue I'm having is not related to
screen resolution. This has to do with custom appearance of certain
windows items that are all screwy. To give you an example, set your
Active and Inactive title bars to size 37 and font 20.

This will warp the window display on all resolutions - XGA, SXGA or
whatever you wish to choose (whether its native for your monitor,
projector or whatever type of display you use).

Hi DukeN,

Under display properties, select the "themes" tab. Assuming you haven't
saved the theme as it is, the selected them will say <theme name>
(modified). Just select the original theme without the "modified", and it'll
reset.
