Default how to remove an item from startup tab in msconfig??

Hi all,

I am working on a laptop for a friend, she just got it back from having the
drive wiped and WinXP Home reinstalled.

I installed AVG and it found 3 viruses, 2 of which were "RayMonE.exe"

a web search left me still wondering what this is... a few sites say it's a
virus, but there's no mention on AVG or Symantec. ??

the AVG put the files in the virus vault and I deleted them.

I opened up the msconfig and the last line is for the Raymone.exe file... I
removed the registry entry under the ..... Run key, but it still appears in
the msconfig startup tab...

How do I remove it from there... so I can put the msconfig back in normal
mode?

thanks,
niteowl

Reactivate it in msconfig, then delete it from here:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I have a cleanup script on line 148: right hand side:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Manual Edit:

To Remove Entries:

These values are stored in the Registry. Go to Start/Run/Regedit to access
these keys and values to delete/remove them:

For items that were in the Start menu, Programs, Startup folder:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder.
You'll find a subkey for each disabled item.

For items loaded from the Registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg.
Again, you'll find a subkey for each disabled item.

Remember, Msconfig was designed to be a troubleshooting tool, not a
"startup configurer." Use MSConfig to determine the location of the
command that is attempting to start the program, and remove it. To
cease the selective startup notifications, either return your settings
to the way they were, or permanently remove the undesirable programs
from your startup configuration.

Additionally, Look in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start
Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start
Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, and in the system registry, primarily in
the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys.
