I'm getting Pop-up messages of increasing urgency directing me to
FixReg32.com, Fix64.com and clean32.com. Are these legit sites? I know just
enough about computers to beware of going somewhere I don't know and
downloading something....(Don't take candy from strangers?)
The pop ups look official enough... An example message is "Your system and
registry is corrupted and needs to be cleaned immediately."
Also "STOP! IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED! Windows has found CRITICAL SYSTEM
ERRORS Download Registry cleaner from www.clean32.com

Do not go to any of those sites, it's scam. You're system is infected.

Ignore such messages. The registry hardly ever needs such work, and Windows
will not be shy about telling you.

Thanks for the quick helpful answers. I'll let my friends know what you've
said, in the meantime. do I just keep closing those pop ups?
They arrive about every 10 minutes.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.

Stop using it, until it can be properly fixed. The infection will only
get worse. Keep it turned OFF.

You were given great advice in a preceding post and what to do; go back
there, read it again, and do it. You have a simple malware problem that is
rather easy to repair. Don't wait; do it now.
