I've been noticing lately that my speakers seem to pick up a radio station
signal because I can hear music playing in the background. For some reason
the lower I set the volume (by turning the dial on the speakers themshelves)
the louder the radio signal gets. I tried swapping out my set for the set on
the downstairs computer and the radio signal disapears. So now that I know
its the speakers fault I plan on getting new ones but am unsure of which ones
I should try. The current ones (ones that pick up the signal) are Cyber
Acustics brand.
Do you live close to that radio station? Are you sure the speaker cable that
plugs into the CPU is properly grounded?
If you put those speakers on the downstairs computer do they pick up the
radio signal there?

Not sure if the cable is grounded or not and yes the speakers pick up the
signal even when I connected them to the downstairs one.

That leads me to believe the cable from the speakers that plug into the back
of your computer should be shielded.
If the volume control is on the speaker, the speaker box may have an
amplifier built in. If so, a shielded lead is required..

WTF are you asking here for? This has absolutely NOTHING to do with
the OS.
