BIOS = Basic Input / Output System
e.g. BIOS is *not* a "driver".
Of course you can not find a modern BIOS for your MoBo --
your MoBo is 4 years 7 months old; it is obsolete; it is an antique.
Put the MoBo in a museum.

VERY often, the "last" bios, posted by a maunfacturer could contain support
larger hard-disks, than the sometimes "much" earlier bios that was on the
board when it was shipped !

VERY often, when the maunfacturer no longer lists the board, much less
provides the
" "last" bios ", the board is it is obsolete.

and ... ?
If you want to split hairs, boards really are obsolete the instant they're
released, i.e. the manufacturers are already / often already have the next
one ready for release. same with cpus and all th rest of it.

It remains the case that it's pointless updating the bios unless there's a
specific fix in it that the user needs, and it's NOT uncommon for the owner
of an older machine, that's still perfectly serviceable, to require a larger
capacity hard-disk whose size is not supported in the current bios but, IS
supported in bios's subsequent to the one on the board at the time it was
supplied.

.....I've now forgotten why this hair was being split !

regards, Richard
