Default Green Bar

I don't know what the green bar at the bottom of the screen that shows your
progress is called. My problem is that all of a sudden yesterday, it
disappeared. I haven't changed anything & it worked all these years. I can't
find how to get it back. Another weird thing happened. I have been on a
message board for months. I never new the avatars & smilies moved. Yesterday
all of a sudden they started being animated. What would make them work? Did
something somehow get changed so now ai can see them move but lost my green
bar?? I need to know my progress status. Thanks.

You might be talking about View menu > Status bar. Otherwise, I'm not sure
what you're talking about... What application are you talking about?
Internet Explorer, Windows Messenger? If you're using IE to visit a chat
site, what site?
