Default Ghosted WinXP Drive wont Boot, PLEASE HELP

My system has 2 matched hard drives.

Drive 1(C), Master in CMOS, is the running drive

Drive 2 (E), Slave in CMOS is the backup drive.

Once/week I ghost Clone C -> E.

My C got very messed up.

I went into CMOS and hid Drive 1 (C)

I booted from Drive 2 and did a few simle tasks to verify it would
function after being booted.

I updated cmos to unhide disk 1, Master

I did a Ghost Clone from Disk 2, Slave to Disk 1 Master.

When I boot from Disk 1, Windows hangs up.

Most widows programs show a location of E, Disk 2 in the properties.

If I hide DISK 2 in CMOS, windows hangs up whin I boot, frem disk 1

All help will be greatly appreciated

When you clone a drive you need to disconnect it then put in in place of
the original...
at least initially.
If you leave it connected right after the cloning process it will be
assigned a drive letter other than that of your original...
as you have now noticed.

I'd disconect the cloned drive then perform a repair installation on your
main drive

The only way to hide Drive 1 is either physically disconnecting it
from the cable or disabling the IDE port that it is connected to on
the motherboard. Since the drives are on the same cable, the latter is
not possible. In other words, simply setting the BIOS to not detect
Drive 1 does not prevent Windows from accessing the drive.

The first task you should perform is running Disk Management and
checking the status of the System, Boot, and Page File partitions. If
they are not on the same physical disk, then the clone is bad.

Are you still able to boot from Drive 2?
