None of them, it's not there. Can I ask why you want to do this?

Hide it so it isn't displayed unless you click the chevron to show the
hidden tray icons.

Not sure why it's there. It allows some kind of removing of the hard drives and editing of their cache settings if you
choose properties of the drive. I just don't want it available in case someone accidentally get curious and decides to
jack up one of the hard drives.

Thx,

Tevi

I see your point, however, other people can see it and there are no settings
within this applet that allow it not to load.. maybe I'll do process of
elimination to find out which one it is and kill it dead.

Thx,

Tevi

Tevi:
Although you haven't indicated this in your posts, I assume you're wondering
why the SRH icon is present even though you do not have a USB removable
device connected to the system, yet the icon displays. Is that right?

If that is so...

It may be because a SATA HDD is installed in your system. Since such a SATA
device has the potential quality of being "hot-pluggable" (or
"hot-swappable"), some systems will treat the device as a removable drive in
terms of reflecting the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Notification area
(Systray) similar, for example, to a USB external HDD. I'm not aware of any
practical way to disable that icon. (It's been reported that there are
third-party programs that presumably have that capability but I've no
experience with them if they do exist, nor would I recommend their use). I
believe you're aware that there is, however, in XP a "Hide inactive icons"
feature that you may be interested in - see
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;279771

In any event, if the above is relevant in your situation, i.e., the SRH icon
displays because of an installed SATA HDD, the (practical) bottom-line in
all this is that you can just ignore the SRH icon; you need not access it in
any way with respect to your SATA HDD(s).

I looked for that string in startup locations. Astonishingly, I found no reference to it anywhere. How strange is
this?

Thx for trying,

Tevi
