Default Get windows search results in a text file

I am trying to conduct a file audit of all the files and folders in my work
shared drive in an attempt to reduce file/folder redundancy , it would be a
lot easier if i could get a list of the results from a 'find everything'
search of the folder i am interested in. Is this possible?

Hello,

try the following:
Start -> cmd.exe -> Enter ->
dir <VOLUME>: /S /O:N > C:\yourfile.txt
where the saved file list will be stored in C:\yourfile.txt .

Hope that helps.
Greetings,

One quick and dirty way might be to run a free program called DVDSig, to
produce a list of file names in the main folder and all subfolders and a MD5
checksum for each of these files. Sort the file on the checksum field and
it becomes easy to spot duplicates, even when identical files have different
file names or paths. Examining this sorted list should help you re-evaluate
what you are trying to do. Note that this program ignores empty folders and
kind of ignores zero-byte files and may have problems with files and folders
whose names contains unicode characters.
