Hi I'm new with NTFS. Previously I've Fat 32 for my whole file system. I know
with NTFS I am able to encrypt my folder (my document folder I think). My
hardisk has two partition one is for the operating system and another is for
my document. I would love to run NTFS on both partition but the problem is
what if my operating system fails? If I were to format it, will I still be
able to log into my document folder? I've once formated my computer and lost
all the document in my document since I can't access that folder Are there
any way round it? Thanks

What exactly is your question? Are you asking about encryption or just
about general access if the partition is formatted NTFS?

If your operating system fails, you won't be able to logon at all whether
you have fat or ntfs.

Before you enter the encryption jungle read the following :-
How to back up the recovery agent Encrypting File System (EFS) private key
in Windows Server 2003, in Windows 2000, and in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/241201
if you write down your KEY for the encryption and you have to reinstall, make sure you have the KEY before the reinstall or you will not be able access your encrypted data.

I think, if author format the partition (as it follows from subject and
his question) -- any key will be useless. There will be no data on the
formatted partition to decrypt.
Sorry if I understood you in the wrong way: English is not my native
language.
