Default format hard drive

Hi people

i am trying to format the hard drive and to installal micorsoft xp
proffession i put the cd in and boot it with the cd before it gives me the
option to format i get a blue screen with the following error

stop c0000221 unknown hard error \systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll

could anyone hel please

Is this the same machine that couldn't see the hard drive? If yes, what
hardware troubleshooting have you already done?

i am wanting to format the hard drive and put a fresh xp windows on it so i
am trying to format is with the cd i have but i am getting the message below
when the system boots with the cd
