Default Flash Player - can't uprade/install in XP

Hi

I'm trying to open a video on You Tube and I get this error message: 'Hello,
you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash
Player'. So then I try to download and install the latest Adobe Flash Player
and it never installs. Is this something to do with Windows XP?

Flash Player 9 April 2008 Security Update (version 9.0.124.0).

1. Check version here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/
or
Version test for Adobe Flash Player.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowled...fm?id=tn_15507

2. How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control.
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/view...nalId=tn_14157
Direct link:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/f...ash_player.exe

2a. Alternatively, uninstall "Adobe Flash Player Active X" in Control
Panel\Add or Remove Programs, if it exists.

3. Reboot

4. Install Adobe Flash Player.
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/downl...ShockwaveFlash
or
Adobe Flash Player.
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
Direct link:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...r_active_x.msi

5. Reboot

6. Check version here:
http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/
or
Version test for Adobe Flash Player.
