I have two flash drives that work on all of my Windows XP computers
except one (and they previously worked for two years on it). I've
uninstalled the USB ports (in Device Manager), rebooted and let WinXP
reinstall these ports but that doesn't help. Anybody else have this
problem?

Yes and no. People cannot answer you when you do not specify the problem.
Sure it is not just a question of mounting your flash drive in Disk
Management
I had a machine once that had a c: drive and a cd-rom d: drive. When I
plugged the usb drive in, it would be assigned drive letter e:. Later, I
added a second hard drive (while the usb drive was unplugged) and assigned
it a drive letter of e:. From that point forward, whenever I inserted the
usb drive, it would show up in the "safely remove hardware" list in the
system tray, but would not get a drive letter. Then only way I ever got it
to work again was to change the second hard drive to f:.
This may or may not apply to you, but it may help someone else who searches
this subject later.

- I plug either flash drive into any of our other WinXP computers and
they mount/work correctly
- I plug either flash drive into the computer in question, and it
mounts, is assigned a drive letter (I've tried multiple drive letters)
but doesn't function correctly (takes 15 minutes to access it)
- I've tried the USB ports on the front AND the back of the computer
- I've tried multiple flash drives
- I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the USB drivers (in Device
Manager)
- Both flash drives work in all of our other WinXP computers
- Both flash drives do NOT work in the machine in question
- I've uninstalled/reinstalled the USB drivers (in Device Manager)
- I've tried the front and back USB ports (neither worked)
- I've tried different drive letters for the flash drive
- The flash drives actually mount and are assigned a drive letter on
the machine in question
- I can actually access the flash drives (on the machine in question)
but it physically takes 15 minutes to open it up (it take a second or
two on the other machines)
