Default Error in Windows XP HOME - USB/Serial Cable

HI
Lately I have the same problem with my USB/SERIAL cable, every time when I
connect this cable with my laptop and my glucose meter I see blue screen and
then restart.In Computer Management/Event Viewer/System I found information
about this error:
Category: (102)
Event ID: 1003
Type: Error

Error code 1000000a, parameter1 0000ffdf, parameter2 00000002, parameter3
00000001, parameter4 806ffa8e

How can I solve this problem, I have to download test results from my
glucose meter
If someone has any idea how to do this or any patch, please let me know

Default RE: Error in Windows XP HOME - USB/Serial Cable

I have no specific advice to offer, other than the obvious:

1. Re-install your software. If that doesn't work...
2. Install the software on another computer. If that doesn't work...
3. Buy a new cable. If that doesn't work...
4. Return the cable and get your meter inspected/replaced.

Default Re: Error in Windows XP HOME - USB/Serial Cable

My guess is that your USB to Serial adapter is an older model.
I would recommend that you go on the manufacturer's web site to see if
they have an updated driver for the USB to Serial adapter. Many early
models of these devices came with buggy drivers that would crash a PC.
Most manufacturers have fixed all the drivers and the problem is very
rare with newer devices. The USB to Serial adapters from Belkin are
very stable as are the ones from EdgePort.
