work is there anything else i can do xxxxx
The DVD region changes it is hard coded in the DVD unit itself. You can do
two things: Get a new DVD unit or try to use a sofware to by pass this
feauture. I can recommend none, due I never used them.

My solution is to have two DVD drives. (You need at least two on a system
nowadays anyway IMO.) I keep the burner permanently in Region 2, because
that's where I am; and I keep the player in Region 1 because I buy a lot of
stuff from Amazon USA.
I even have a third DVD drive, an old burner that won't burn anymore, that's
installed in a USB 2.0 box. This is a good option if you don't have a slot
to install a second drive in.
