Dvd drives won't read disc

The UpperFilters and LowerFilters removal did work for me to. As well as
cdgone.zip file.
But the drive only reads the CD or DVD when it is in the drive when I
reboot.
Once I remove the disc and install another it won't read it.

Need help please

I have 2 drive and they both react the same, pretty high odds.
Why would it read the disc on reboot but not after boot?
