Default drag and drop

Is there any way of disabling/preventing/confirming a drag and drop operation
in explorer?

I wish to prevent users from inadvertantly moving files and folders and
perhaps giving them the option of confirming the (proposed) move.

Thanks

a couple of work-a-rounds might be to not use Windows Explorer and use a
different file manager that does allow enabling or disabling drag and
drop. One such would be the old MS DOS Executive File Manager from
Windows 2.03 which works just fine in XP although it does not show long
file names. Here is a screen shot of what it looks like (yes, it really
is black and white):
You can get it at: 'http://oldfiles.org.uk/powerload/win3x.htm'
Scroll down to MSEXE.EXE and that is the file to download (First scan
it then put it in an empty directory to expand it)

*NOTE*: There is malware around that uses the same file name of
msdos.exe but this is not.

Another option might be:

You might also be able to make use of Microsoft's Shared Computer Tool
(free so worth looking at)-
'http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sharedaccess/overview.mspx'

Kelly has a reg fix to allow Drag and Drop. Click the link and it
should be displayed on the screen. Go to the two registry entries in
Regedit, and change dword:00000001 to dword:00000000 and the second
dword:00000000 to dword:00000001.

Whether that will block Drag and Drop everywhere, I can't say.
