Default Down loads and updates dont work.

For a long time I have not been able to update exsisting programs
or down load new ones with out help from vendor. I can not update or down
load
critical microsoft or new programs IE7 will not down load. I have e-mailed
micro soft several times but have not recieved an answer i could understand
or afford.

Default RE: Down loads and updates dont work.

Specifically what takes place when you click on a download....Also,open
event viewer to see whats going on in the OS.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the
malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what
programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?
