Display issue

My son was playing online gaming - said he minimized the game - came back and
the monitor display was Horizontal instead of Vertical (tool bar is on the
right side of the monitor and the icons are sideways - mouse also works
opposite)

I have tried to go thru the control panel to adjust with no success...

Virus? or what?
