Default Delayed Reaction

What might cause a delay of several seconds from the time I click on the red 'X' to the time the window actually closes?

This happens often, but not always, on any program window.

I have Windows XP Home SP 2. My mouse is a wireless (RF, not Bluetooth) Logitech mouse. I haven't installed Logitech's Setpoint mouse software (because it's caused problems for me in the past) so I guess I'm using Windows' generic driver.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Daddy,

One program that causes this is the mastermind add-on for Skype. Open
your Internet Explorer and find the setting for "Manage Add-ons". Go
ahead and disable the (probably 2) Skype add-ons found there. (You
don't need them - they scan web pages for phone numbers - er, cute but
not exactly cool).

May not be your issue but I thought I would mention it for others who
may have this exact issue.

Hope that helps.
